Tombola Makolo (2011)

Tombola Makolo is a portrait of a certain life style in my home country, the Congo. It’s a portrait of my childhood, growing up in an environment where people "live" outside, it's hot and sunny all year long, where women take care of the household, men are "bosses", children play in the streets, sing, dance and communicate without boundaries...

Tombola Makolo has been part of the Black Choreographers Festival Artist Mentoring Program 2011 with Robert Mosses as mentor.

As a work in progress, Tombola Makolo will be restaged and taken to the universe of the choreographer's memories while a child and an adult living the everyday fun life in the Congo.
